Joan has been teaching yoga and fitness for over 30 years.  She received her E-RYT-200 certification from the Yoga Alliance and is also a National Exercise Trainer Association Pilates Instructor.  She has a B.S. in Speech and Language Pathology as well as master’s degrees in Educational Counseling and Cognitive Disabilities.  Joan has extensive training and experience working with individuals who have physical and emotional needs related to traumatic brain injury, cancer, cardiac, stroke recovery, neurological involvement, fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis.

Joan is currently participating in an Indiana University research project as an Adapted Group Yoga instructor.  This unique research project is for individuals with stroke or brain injury and focuses on strength, flexibility and balance.  In addition to this specialty, her experience also includes Yoga Instructor with the YES to VETS program, Pilates instructor in a private health club and a 36 year career (retired) working in special education within Carmel Clay Schools.

Joan’s overall objective is to provide yoga and fitness instruction to individuals with various specialized needs in a safe and supportive environment.
